Cape May was wonderful, and just what I needed after a summer of working and class. My aunt and uncle rented a gorgeous victorian house just a block from the ocean! My parents did all the cooking and baking, and the food was so so good.
The girls went out one day to Congress Hall (an old hotel), and had lunch at the Blue Pig Tavern. It had such an interesting history, which mostly revolves around gambling in the early 1900s. Apparently Oprah also loves it and we missed her by just a week!
I had never been to Cape May, but I loved how non-commercial the town is and I didn’t drive for an entire week, which was heaven for this NoVA driver. My family doesn’t take vacations very often. In fact, I cannot remember the last vacation we went on together, so this was really special!
Luckily, my aunt and uncle rented the house again for the same week next year. I am already looking forward to it!
